I'm normally very picky about my concert shots. If I'm not happy with what's in focus, gone. Delete. I am addicted to crisp and sharp concert shots. But I've been giving the old "blur" a chance lately. After all, it's a cool feature that photographers can utilize. Slow the shutter down, hope for the best. I'm not sure whether I'd throw a photo like this into my formal portfolio, but it's good enough for my Flickr photostream.
There have been some great ad campaigns around Toronto lately. One of my favourites is this campaign for Public Mobile. All of the ads feature the same text. The only thing that changes between ad-to-ad is the model. The models assume a pose very similar to what you see here: looking straight ahead with sort of a confident, happy stare.
The wonderful thing about these photos is that these are real people, not models (at least they appear to be non-models). Better yet, this campaign represents people from diverse backgrounds. The public isn't subject to only anorexic white women.
It's brilliant! A refreshing sight while commuting. And damn good photos too.
