I look fondly upon all of those visits to Hongdae because: A. The bands were awesome, and B. There is no other place like Hongdae in the world. I miss it so much. The BEST party district ever.

I went to the 3rd anniversay celebration show for Out of This Spark - a small record label in Toronto - on January 22nd. The quality of music was really high. I was at the Drake underground last night for Elvis Monday (Jan 26). I only stayed for two bands, but the quality does not compare (in my opinion, anyways). Donlands and Mortimer were pretty good. Funny thing is, I arrived early enough to witness their soundcheck. They played something during that time that was outstanding. Sadly, they didn't play that song during their actual set.

The Whole Entire Universe - I'll pass next time. On the positive side they clearly don't take themselves seriously. I like that in performers. Their show was Andy Kaufman-like. I felt like they were playing a joke on me watching them. The lyrics, in their entirety, of one memorable song were: "Burn the universities!!!!" Maybe I wasn't in the mood. They encouraged me to leave before they were finished.

And those are my two first Toronto shows.

Photoshop Horror?

Ugh.

There's no secret that Photoshop was behind this. That's not a bad thing, I use it everyday for nearly every photo that I produce. But this is just absurd. According to the article behind this photo, the shop wizards airbrushed Megan Fox's tattoos out of the photo. Okay. Not a problem.

But she's unusually skinny. Hello media people, can we not get past this problem? Girls and women - excuse me, humans, are not supposed to look like this. I suspect that her stomach area was slimmed digitally.

On the other hand, the lighting is stunning. As it should be. This is an ad for Armani.
